Associations & Coalitions
Van Scoyoc Associates (VSA) represents a number of industry trade associations. We work closely with their leadership to identify priority issues, create position statements, and craft strategies for engaging in the federal legislative and regulatory processes.
We help plan, organize, and implement association fly-in events with their membership to ensure the event provides their members with the opportunity to engage directly with their elected officials to discuss the issues that are most important to them. We can secure venues and speakers, create the agenda, organize and draft meeting materials and leave behinds, make recommendations for attendee itineraries, attend meetings alongside members of your association, assist in any meeting or logistical needs, and provide follow up after the event.
We are constantly monitoring the legislative and political landscape for our organizations at the federal level. We will give regulatory updates, share relevant and timely information, and provide strategic counsel and advice along the way.
The VSA team leader has their finger on the pulse of key legislative issues important to the association membership and can create content for newsletters and magazines to keep your entire organization updated on the issues impacting their work and mission. Additionally, we can recommend and create content for federal legislative issues, key votes, and issue papers on the association’s website. We will create messaging for grassroots member involvement and make recommendations to activate the association’s network in support of advocacy efforts. We have the capability to activate your grassroots network on your behalf.
In addition to issue specific advocacy, our team will work to educate decision makers and raise the profile of your association and its leaders. We have experience in taking a holistic approach to creating a Washington profile for associations and their members through more frequent and purposeful Hill visits, scheduling site visits for Members of Congress, and mapping a strategic plan for key association stakeholders to leverage relationships.
