Van Scoyoc Companies Lobbying Income Sets New Record
Washington, D.C., July 20, 2009—Van Scoyoc Associates Inc. today released 2009 second quarter lobbying income totals that showed an increase over the first three months of the year.
Van Scoyoc Associates second quarter lobbying income jumped 28 percent over the preceding quarter of 2009, from $5,880,000 to $7,540,000. VSA’s sister firm, Capitol Decisions Inc., also showed an increase from $615,000 to $730,000 during the same period.
Together, the two firms reached a new mid-year high of $14,765,000.
The numbers reflect a continuing increase in activity and the addition of several new clients since the first of the year, as previously reported by H. Stewart “Stu” Van Scoyoc, President and CEO of both companies.
“The traditional slow-down in lobbying activity during a Presidential transition has passed, and the Obama Administration’s ambitious legislative agenda is now in full play. Economic and political activity are both now centered in Washington, with much to be lost and won in the ensuing debate,” Mr. Van Scoyoc said.
Van Scoyoc Associates Inc. and Capitol Decisions Inc. are both bipartisan, full-service Federal Government affairs firms. The income numbers are as reported to Congress under lobbying registration and enforcement regulations.
